An
initial consultation and comprehensive follow-up estimate is included
for each project. Projects are generally divided into the following
phases.
Preproduction
If there is one area that separates JBC Communications for the rest
of the field, it is in the careful detail brought to the preproduction
and planning phase. We carefully listen to your particular challenge,
work with you to identify specific goals and objectives for the
project, (i.e. what is the target audience supposed to do after
experiencing the program)...and how will we track success and the
return on investment. We determine what medium or media mix is most
appropriate. More time is spent in this phase of the project than
in any other. This communications diagnosis is crucial in making
sure all parties are on the same page and the right track before
the more costly production phase is entered into.
Production
Once specific goals and objectives are identified
and a clear strategy and medium are identified, JBC begins to craft
the components that when melded together will comprise the final
program. Central to this effort, across all media - is the writing,
whether straight copy to be read by the eyes, or a polished script
to be narrated. JBC Communications uses writers who expertise span
a range from exacting technical writing to more creative writing
for more personal human stories. Solid copy is the foundation for
any effective communications tool. Where applicable, roughs and
storyboards are prepared to complement the writing and provide the
blueprint and vision to build the individual components around.
Shooters, illustrators, animators, photographers, audio engineers
all work together with the project manager and the client to make
sure their component of the program will integrate seamlessly with
the others. JBC prides itself in its production people having familiarities
with production practices "outside their box" so a shooter
can think in terms of what an editor or animator needs, or a graphic
designer will design knowing the different and specific requirements
of designing for print or for the web. This knowledge and experience
gives the client the piece of mind that their project is being shepherded
through capable caring hands.
Postproduction
Following
the acquisition and approval of all the video, stills, audio, graphics,
etc. these elements are woven together to create the final piece.
This is where JBC prides itself in "no surprises" postproduction.
We stand by our estimate from the initiation of the project. So
long as the scope of work requested by the client does not change,
JBC sticks rigidly to the estimate we provide the client. The only
surprise we like is the client feeling we have exceeded their expectations.
Duplication/Fulfillment
JBC
can handle the duplication of your project in any media plus packaging
and collateral material to ensure that the final product looks performs
as well for your target audience as the master program or document
looked to you.
Implementation
and Results Tracking
Once
the copies of the final product arrive to the client, many companies
consider that the end of the project. In many ways however, that
us just the beginning. The slickest looking video, web site, CD-ROM
or print piece will NOT meet the client's objective if it sits in
a supply closet or on a computer server with nobody to see it. JBC
Communications is interested in the entire communications challenge
companies and organizations face, including planning for how the
program will be distributed and integrated into the client's business
practices, and how results will be tracked. This step is often not
built into the project model of many production firms. JBC offers
follow-up consulting to stay with the client through the implementation
and results-tracking phase to ensure that JBC Communications fully
met the objectives of the client.
